In this study, we investigate the combination of indicators, including performance, behavioral engagement, and emotional engagement, to identify students experiencing difficulties. We analyzed data from two primary sources: digital traces extracted from th e Learning Management System (LMS) and images captured by students' webcams. The digital traces provided insights into students' interactions with the educational content, while the images were utilized to analyze their emotional expressions during learnin g activities. By utilizing real data collected from students at a French engineering school, recorded during the 2022 2023 academic year, we observed a correlation between positive emotional states and improved academic outcomes. These preliminary findings support the notion that emotions play a crucial role in differentiating between high achieving and low achieving students.

The field of learning has evolved drastically over the years. With the advent of e-learning and learning management systems, the process of learning has gone beyond the traditional model of classroom training. Now it is possible for instructors and teachers to reach a wider, international audience through online courses hosted on cloud based LMS platforms. Students can access these courses from any place in the world at any time, by simply logging into their account using their login credentials. Although e-learning is a complete and self-sustainable medium for imparting knowledge, it also works well in conjunction with traditional classroom training.

If you want to keep up with the latest e-learning trends, then you must be aware that Artificial Intelligence has a great potential in the LMS world and can help to add never before seen value for the e-learning team. It is true that online training and learning needs a lot of management and proper system to deliver what the learners actually need and also in the form they need. So, the need for the moment is a new type of LMS that supports AI, which will help to put the learners in the center and help them better understand and also manage their courses. AI can bring a great change in the learning system and make it more effective and aligned with the needs. "Learning is a two-way process- A dialogue. With latest technology and social media, learners expect fast and quick response to their questions."

Why AI Changes Your Relationship With LMS - eLearning Industry

Voltaire once said that the Holy Roman Empire was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an empire. We don't have to go quite as far in acknowledging the imbalance in the constituent parts of Learning Management Systems. And the learning that is there isn't delivered when learners really need it, nor in the form they need it. We need a new type of LMS for the way we want and need to learn today. With AI we have the potential to put learners at the center and at the same time have them better understand and manage their learning.
